Italian Yacht Builder Sanlorenzo's first trawler yacht Moka

Sanlorenzo, Italian yacht builder since 1958, launched their first explorer yacht 460Exp Moka in July 2015 in Italy. She is 42 meters and 460 GT, so this has given her name. The shipyard has just entered Italian trawler yacht market with this first explorer yacht. With her steel displacement hull with aluminum superstructure, Moka offers spacious living areas, safety and comfort to her owners. The 460 Exp has designed for long cruising journeys. Her large interior layout and full equipments allow the owner to be safe at sea at all weather conditions.

The yacht has just completed her maiden cruising voyage from Italy to South East America at an average speed of 12 knots and total 5,700 nautical miles. After her fist voyage which took nearly 20 days, the yacht has not faced with any severe problems. Her steel hull, machines and equipments have not been affected by the tough sea conditions during this long journey.

The yacht Moka is RINA certified with special remarks as she anchors at sea for longer than any other similar yachts with no need to use her generators. With this characteristic, she is accepted as green friendly vessel because low emission rates and less noise during the anchorage. Compared to any other motor yachts with similar dimensions, Moka has stronger stability and less draught as these allow her cruising ability in shallow sea conditions.

When you look at 460Exp’s superstructure, it is constructed a bit forward on the hull compared to standard yachts. This feature creates a big aft space on lower deck so the owners are able to carry bigger toys and tenders. At parking position, the full-size deck at the back becomes a huge social quarter, where the people can relax under the sun; swim on the sea or in the large pool on the deck where guest are able to use minibar and hot tub there. At the lower deck, there are total 4 big suites and a recreational area with another swimming pool, fitness center and a Turkish bath with sauna. On the main deck, there is a very large owner’s cabin located.

She has twin CAT C32 main engines with a maximum speed of 16 knots. The yacht Moka’s 50 t. fuel capacity able her to cruise almost 4.500 nautical miles at a speed of 11 knots as a maximum range. To make it more clearly, she is able to cruise from Canaries to Caribbean non-stop without having fuel at single journey. After Moka’s successful launch, Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo has put 4 new explorer yacht projects on the shield for future construction plans.
